The KVK KGT Farm has already well established Horticulture Plantation namely Mango (3300 Plants), Anola (2300 Plants), Coconut (2250 Plants), Guava (400 Plants) and Sapota.

Disease & Weather Forecasting Centre:

KVK has established the disease & Weather Forecasting Center with the help of this software predictions are made about the outcome of Disease outbreak like Downey Mildew, Powdery Mildew and Blight and necessary recommendations of Preventing Diseases are given to farmer.

A moment of opening of ‘Disease Forecasting Centre’  with the auspicious hands of Hon’ble Dr. N. Sudhakar Z.C. Hyderabad

c) AGRICULTURE SOFTWARES :

i) Software on Soil Testing

with the help of which the fertilizer & manures recommendations can be given to different crops as per the State Agriculture Universities (SAU) recommendations or as per the Six Tier System or as per the targeted yield approach.

A moment when Hon’ble Dr. Hegde, Z.C. Hyderabad, visited Soil Laboratory

Soil testing is the most important factor for obtaining satisfactory yields through supplying adequate quantity of essential plant nutrients in soil.  For maximum productions and rational soil management, knowledge of the fertility status and physical properties of soil is necessary.

With the help of soil testing we can find out the fertility status of soil and accordingly we can recommend the deficient nutrients and soil amendments. Considering this it was became necessity to develop the soil and water test software through which we can give soil and water test reports of different crops with least time. ICAR, New Delhi has provided funds for establishment of soil testing lab to all KVK,s and through this Soil & Water Testing software it will become easy for Soil Scientist to give crop fertilizer recommendation. In view this points KVK Satara has developed a soil and water testing software.  For development of this software technically supported by Mr. Jaywant B. Jagtap, Training Organizer I/c., Agronomist, KVK, Satara. In master section of this software crops are categorized in 6 groups viz.

1.         Agronomical Crops                             4.         Cash Crops

2.         Horticulture Crops                               5.         Fodder Crops

3.         Vegetable Crops                                 6.         Medicinal & Aromatic Plants

All Crops are included in all these six categories and stores the dose, time of application of fertilizer and manure in masters.  This data is editable and you can change it any time.  Even fertilizers and manure cost and element multiplication factor is also stored in masters and it is also editable part this will reduce manual calculation of values per Hectare or Meq./l from titration reading or OD readings. In transaction section,  Soil Scientist has to feed the just analyze data of soil and water analysis and he will get the report of soil & water test as per Farmer, Village, Taluka and District wise.

I am thankful to ICAR & ICAR – ZC Unit, Zone – V for giving the funds for establishment of Soil Testing Lab at KVK site.

ii) Extension Activities Software:

KVK has developed Extension Activities Software through which we can store all the records and documents of KVK extension activities like Trainings, Front Line Demonstration, On Farm Trials and their reports.

d) Developed CD on Organic Farming “Sendriya Sheti”

KVK has developed CD on Organic Farming to enrich the knowledge of farmers who are indulged in respective fields

Besides this CD KVK also maintained more than 50 Nos.CDs related to agriculture which are shown to farmers at the time of training & other programmes as per the requirement.

e) Publications

In its publications segment the KVK has published the Vermicompost Diaries, Rabi crop Diary, Pest & Diseases of Horticultural & vegetable crops & Animal Diseases folders and Sericulture Leaflets.

Mini-ATIC Centre:

KVK has established Mini-ATIC Centre for giving information to farming community as well as visiting dignitaries in which Photographs of Pests, Diseases & Nutrition Deficiencies, IPM Kits and different Specimens & Models are demonstrated.
